February 15, 2009

Life has just been kind of day to day normal stuff. Go to work, come home, eat dinner, do Sudoku, watch Gilmore Girls, read my book, fix lunches, go to bed. I read Inkheart for my book club this past month. I didn't get the book from the library until 10 days before I needed to have it read. It's a big book and I got it read in 8 days.

I have Eclipse from the Twilight series on my computer. If I don't get it read by the 20th of February it will disappear and I will have to put it on hold and check it out again. I don't exactly know how downloading a book works except if it's not available you have to wait until it is and you only have it for 3 weeks like other books.

Anyway, I didn't get to go to my bookclub because Ralph got free tickets to the Jazz for that night. We got to watch the Jazz win the game over the Lakers. I love to read all the stats and make comparisons while I'm watching. All the Lakers had on black shoes, Ronnie Price came from Utah Valley University, and we have a much younger team than the Lakers in years of experience. Interesting huh?

For Valentine's Day Ralph wanted to get me something and I said he didn't need to, no flowers, no candy, and finally I agreed to a ski pass to Brighton. Yeah, I get to go skiing this week. I think I'll go Thursday. I made Ralph a chocolate rum cake, in the middle is vanilla rum pudding, and the icing is chocolate rum. It's so good. I took advantage of a Valentine box that the Guymon's sent to us and put his raspberry flavored fudge in it. When I cook fudge in my glass pan it always turns out perfect.

We went to lunch at Applebee's and had banana splits after the evening session of Stake Conference.

We received a nice card from the Reep's telling us the latest in their children's lives and they are really getting busy. That's great to be involved with so many good activities.

February 14th is Brigham's birthday and he turned 4 years old. We talked to him and he is so excited to be 4. Spencer got his cast off, Julianne is doing ok with her braces and Sam is having another surgery in his throat and ears this week. They even had some sunshine and all the snow melted with record high temperatures. It snowed yesterday to get back to winter.

In our conference last night they re-emphasized the importance of Family Finances and Family Food Storage. I'm very happy to know that all my children are doing what they can to have Food Storage and some savings in the bank. I know it's very hard to save, but each of you have had experiences where your savings has saved you. It makes me so happy to know you are working to be successful and acheiving that goal.
Susan & Chris built some food storage shelves and they're working toward getting them filled. They bought a freezer to go along with the shelves. When Chris lost his job last year they found out some of the things they need if that situation were to happen again. We're so happy his schooling is starting and he'll have another job.
