The past couple of weeks have been fun for Ralph and me. Last Saturday I found out it was free day at the race track out in Tooele, so off we went. We had enjoyed the Rocky Mountain racetrack a couple of years ago when we had free season tickets, so we thought we'd enjoy this. The track is very long and you can't see the cars except when they whiz by you, so as far as the racing went, is was ok, but not our favorite. We did get to see some 1905 racing cars on display. I thought they maybe went 30 big miles per hour in those days, but they told us they went 90 miles an hour. That would be some ride.
While we were there, we rode in a "Skid Car". They use this car to teach drivers how to drive out of a skid. We were passengers, but you could feel the car skid around the corners and at the end, we got to go around in three circles like we were on the tilt a whirl. That was FUN!
Today, I went to a "friends race" that is held at Liberty Park. The ide
a is to run 3 times around the park for 4.27 miles. I did that in the spring without walking, but today I think it was too hot. I did make it, but it took me 50 minutes because I had to walk a couple of times. It was fun.
No sitting down for the Baer's. Off to the swimming pool for an hour and a half
with the Guymon's. We had a barbeque at our house after, so it has been a fun day.
Now for the Saturday housework. Ugh!
