August 24, 2008

Hi,

It's definitely been a crazy last couple of months. We went camping at Rockport Reservoir with Guymon's July 3-4. One of our favorite things to do when we camp is have breakfast cooked over the fire. We took our old yellow blow up boat with us and floated around on that for awhile. Afterwards we went to Park City and rode down the Alpine slide.

Chris, Susan and Kristofer
Along with Tyler, Deeann, Jacob and Andrew
came to our house for Father's Day.

August 4th, we went water skiing at Jordanelle Reservoir. Man, getting up on skiis is harder than it used to be. Tyler worked so hard to get up and was successful for a few minutes a few times. Kristofer tried and got half way up once. Ralph pulled some muscles in his leg so he never made it up. The rope was so hard to see in the water that we ran over it and got it stuck on the prop. Tyler got to do a lot of swimming under the boat, holding his breath and finally got it unstuck. Yippee! He saved the day. The boys were so afraid when they saw us jump into the water, but after a few hours, they really relaxed and had some fun.

Then the day came for the Guymon's to move to New Hampshire. Tyler and his brother drove there Aug 15-17 and Deeann and the boys flew there Aug 19th.

Aug 15th is was Father's and sons so Ralph took Jacob, Andrew was too young and Kristofer chose not to go.

A couple of weeks ago Ralph & I went on a hike up to the top of a mountain in Big Cottonwood canyon. We thought that hike was a hard one.

On Aug. 9, Tyler, Deeann and I went on a hike to the top of a mountain by the U. It was a straight up hike and I was really tired. It took us an 1 1/2 to get to the top. We could see everywhere. When I look at the mountain from here, I can't believe I hiked to the top.

Deeann helped her children by reading to them this summer. (She reads to them all the time.) The library had a party for children that had accomplished the reading charts that the library had given them. We went to the party. It's theme was bugs.

Ralph's birthday was on the 18th. It was fun to celebrate with the little guys. We went to Susan's the day before and Kris & Jacob loved jumping on the tramp.

As you can tell, we have had a great 7 weeks with Guymon's living with us. We surely miss them. We're so happy that they're off to the next adventure in their lives and wish them the best of luck.
